'There's something about OBS that stays with you for life!'
TENZING! ♥
I'm back and black from Outward Bound (7-11 June)!
I won't say it's the best camp, but it's most definitely the most meaningful camp with many lessons learnt. Thanks muchoos to Cuiting for calling me as a last minute replacement. LOL. Same group as Reubalone. (Reuben + Abalone) in Tenzing, group partner was Shakleton with Lia and Nurianni.
Met many YSC, YTSA, LINE camp pple, ex-Greenridgeans too! What a coincedence. ^^
YAOI!
Oh yes, day 1 we even drew a missing friend of ours. We called it YAOI. Hahahaha! For those who knw what it means, uhhhh. Inspired by Reuben (i think). LOL. "I say Reuben, you say Horny!" I loike his abs.
Bathed.
Day 2, we abseiled. At first i thought it was just the basic down-a-wall-abseiling, but actually it was down a cliff. LOL. I was like "ohmygay!" Halfway thru, it started raining and everyone slipped and banged and became muddy along the way. What's worse, the soles of my shoes came off on day 1, and the duct tape around my shoe completely came off. -.-
On the night of day 2, we slept in the woods. Oh coolio yknow.
Peed in the woods. Weird kinda feeling. HA-HA.
Didnt bathe.
Day 3. LAND EXPEDITION
One word to describe it: E-X-H-A-U-S-T-I-N-G! My back ached like *#&@()#*@()*#*@. Walking 10km with a heavy camping bag on yr back was..ugh. But i loved how a few of us sang songs to keep our mind of the aching.
AND I WAS LIKE BABY BABY BABY OHHHHHHH! Lunched on a boardwalk at Chek Jawa. The sea breeze and view were breathtaking.
Inst. SheeMun said: "If you're willing to suffer, and persevere towards your goal, you'll eventually be rewarded. This is your reward."
Camp 2 was our campsite for day 3, on the sand along the sea. Ohyeah, every tent had to do centry duty in the middle of the night. Mine was from 3-4am. How amusing, we heard super loud karoke singing from Malaysia. It was uhhhhhh...."good". HAHAHA. Shared about our love life with Ain alrdy. Not bad aye. Didnt bathe.
Day 4, was the bestest and my most favourite day of the camp. THE SEA EXPEDITION. 5 hours of kayaking. It was fantabuloussss like omg. The weather was cooling and great, getting wet was greater. We had to kayak 1 big round around Pulau Ubin island. HAHA. Lunch was on the kayaks too. Games were awesomee. Everyone had to link hands and stand on the kayaks, clap 1,2,3,11 times, jump together etc. BESTEST!? When everyone held hands and sang "Baby". Oooops a lot of us capsized though. Teeheee! We even saw flying fish! There's a videoooo to be posted next time :) Finally bathed! Omg.
Day 5. Last day. Geee, time flew freaking fast. It was the reflecting part of the week. Each took turns crawling inside a pitch dark underground tunnel to reflect and overcome our fears. Hey it wasnt that bad. Our OBS certificates awaited each of us at the end of the tunnel. :)
Didnt bathe.
Okay. Well, Swiss and Unity sec took the last boat of the island. Made a few friends too?
KFC @ Sengkang! Omg. The crispy chicken..pepsi..mashed potato. Drooooools.
Yeah, the trip home was LOL-ish.
KAMPUNG KIDS GO URBAN!
This says it all. Eff-ing hilarious!
Overall, i loved my 1 week in Outward Bound Singapore.
I'm missing my friends there alrdy.. It's amazing how close you can get to pple within just 5 days. Quote Inst. SheeMun, "There are no strangers, just friends you havent met." And yeah, my phone not being with me for 5 days seemed okay eventually. BUT..i HATE the non-stop mosquito and sand fly bites. -.- AND..the first time i slept in tents for 4 nights and bathed only twice in 5 days. LOL. I'll miss the awesome storytelling too..
Weilin, Wency, Wendy, Xavier, Shafiqah, Ain, Rafidah, Yunwen, Tziwah, Jansheng, Rufino, Ben, Teckwee, Wallen, Reuben and Rhia! = TENZING FOREVER! <3
2 more weeks left of my June holidays. 2 weeks well spent though :)
